Ahadi means promise

Mental health support that reaches young people — and stays.

Digital access, frontline care, and public systems working as one.

Ahadi Mental Health connects young people to care, builds the frontline capacity to deliver it, and integrates both into public health systems for lasting support.

What we do

One system, built so support reaches young people and lasts.

Three interconnected barriers stand between young people and care: access and affordability, stigma and delayed care-seeking, and systems that don't sustain support. Ahadi is built to address all three.

How the system works

01
Reach out
A young person reaches out — through the app, SMS, or helpline — or is noticed early by someone trained to see the signs.
02
Connect
They are connected to the right kind of support for what they are going through, fast.
03
Get support
Care is delivered by trained people — counsellors, peer supporters, and health workers in their community.
04
Follow up
Support does not end at first contact. Follow-up keeps every young person held until they are steady.
1
Digital Access & Delivery Infrastructure
Meeting young people where they are.
The channels and tools that make support reachable — app, SMS, and helpline — so it is easier to reach out and be connected quickly.
2
Frontline Capacity & Community Delivery
Care delivered by people, not platforms.
Building the capacity of people already in young people’s lives — teachers, health workers, peer supporters — to notice early and support well.
3
Public Systems Integration & Ownership
Built to last within the systems that serve young people.
Working with governments so support is owned, financed, and supervised publicly — not a parallel programme that disappears.
Governments deliver. Ahadi enables.

Impact snapshot

A model built and proven in Tanzania — ready to scale.

1,000,000+
young people reached across Tanzania — each one a conversation, not a statistic
MOU
government partnership established — support young people can rely on, inside public systems
10+
years of frontline work — first under TAHMEF, now carried forward as Ahadi

Behind every number is a young person who reached out and got a response.

“When I sent that first message, I didn't expect anyone to answer. Someone did — the same day.”

Our promise

Ahadi is the Swahili word for promise. Our promise is simple: no young person should face mental health challenges alone, and support should be within reach before crisis hits.

That is what we are building. And we would love for you to be part of it.
